Drug and Alcohol Procedure

1 Drug education will be an integral part of the health education programme.  Links can be made with aspects such as healthy eating, body care, physical safety, loss and grief, stress, abuse and harassment, relationships and sexuality.
2 Programmes will contribute to the development of a safe emotional environment in the classroom.
3   Students needs will be assessed and drug education programmes developed as needed (with realistic learning outcomes reflecting the requirements of the Health and P.E. in the New Zealand Curriculum).
4 As far as possible students families/whanau will be involved in supporting drug education and reinforcing its objectives.
5 Any drug education will be consistent with Our Lady of Victories School policies and procedures.
6 Pages 32-40 in ‘Drug Education A Guide for Principals and Boards of Trustees’ will be used as a guide when responding to specific drug related incidents.
7 Both privacy and confidentiality principles will be upheld at all times
 

Smokefree

All reasonable steps are taken to ensure that the school environment and camp and outdoor activities are all smokefree

Signage is placed on all entrances and in other places around the school
