General complaints process:
1. In the first instance if you are unhappy about something occurring at OLV, please make an appointment to meet with the person concerned informally, to discuss your complaint in person.
2. If you still do not feel satisfied, address your complaint in writing to that same person and they will then respond in writing.
3. If after receiving a response in writing you still feel it has not been suitably addressed, then make an appointment to see the person responsible for that area of the school (Junior/Senior) and after that the Deputy Principal, Ms Singleton and then the Principal, Mrs Perry. If the Principal is absent from the school, the Deputy Principal is in charge of the day to day running in her absence.
4. If your complaint is about the Principal, and you have followed the above procedure (met with her to discuss the matter informally and then put your complaint in writing and received a written response) and you are still not satisfied with the resolution, then please make an appointment to see the Board Chairperson.
5. If your complaint is about the Board of Trustees, this can be discussed with the Board Chairperson initially and then put in writing to the BOT Chair.
General:
Any Board of Trustees member who receives a complaint will direct the parent concerned through the appropriate complaints procedure mentioned above. Individual Board members are not to act independently on behalf of the Board and will adhere to this procedure.
A mutually acceptable third person may be involved at any stage to facilitate resolution. Staff are welcome to have representation from the union (NZEI) at any stage.
Thank you for following these procedures, which ensure Our Lady of Victories School is run in an orderly and systematic manner.
