Attendance & Enrolment

Attendance and Enrolment

Enrolments are accepted from Year 1 to Year 8 (5-13 years of age).  Our school has a maximum roll of 272 and can cater for a maximum of 5% Non-Preferential children as stipulated in the Conditional Integration Act 1975 and School Charter, providing vacancies exist.

For enrolments please make contact with the school as soon as possible, at which time an information pack will be sent to you.

New Entrants (5 year old children)

The New Entrant Teacher endeavours to visit pre-enrolled children at their early childhood education centre before they commence school to assist in the transition to school process.  New entrant children are invited to their classroom for at least two pre-school visits – on Tuesdays or Wednesdays.  Parents are welcome to accompany their child at these visits.

Attendance

Pupils are required to attend school whenever it is open or unless they are unwell.  Please inform the school if your child is going to be absent.   The Ministry of Education has strict attendance guidelines in order to ensure children are present in order to learn.

1.       In the case of sickness or absence please contact the School Office to inform us of the reason for the child’s absence by 8.45 am.

2.       If your child is going to be late for some unavoidable reason, it is expected that you will inform the office.

3.       We ask that appointments for children where possible, be made outside of school hours to avoid unnecessary interruptions to class programmes.

4.       Children need to sign in and out of the office, if they are leaving during the school day.

Thank you for following these steps.
