Special Character at OLV:

Our Lady of Victories is a Catholic School.  It began in 1956 and was set up by the Sisters of Mercy with Sr Cornelius as the Foundation Principal.  The school along with St Thomas of Canterbury, Villa Maria and St Bernadettes in Hornby, is part of the parish of Our Lady of Victories and we work in partnership with the parish in the faith education of our children.

The Mercy values at Our Lady of Victories are:

* Respect

* Social Justice

*Service

*Excellence

* Sustainability

Students at OLV identify what these values look like, sound like and feel like in the school and in their daily life, by studying one value each term  Each year they are assessed by one of these values in conjunction with other curriculum areas.

We have only one rule at OLV and that is to Respect God, others and the environment.   This is all encompassing of how children are expected to act and even the five year olds can remember it!!!

Each week, our Director of Religious Studies, Mr David Shaw, places information in the newsletter to keep families informed on the upcoming Religious Education lessons and themes we are studying during that week.  In this way, families can work with us to support their children in this most important area of faith development.

Sacramental programmes are run in the parish, and if you would like your child to be baptised or be confirmed or make their First Communion, please contact the parish office.
